The maiden continued to wonder her room. When will he come? She was tired of being the damsel in distress. She knew how use a sword, she knew how to use an arrow...but she couldn't fight. Zelda stared into the mirror of her dresser, questioning destiny. Would Link succeed? Would he betray her? Would be remember his past lives and turn against Hyrule? No - he couldn't do that. Link was not to type of person to turn against something he was loyal to.

She heard footsteps behind her door. Perhaps the guard has come to check on her again. She could not let out any secrets of the hero's whereabouts. She took a long gulp as she leaned her head down, not daring to stare at the mirror. Finally the door opened and soft footsteps walked in. Perhaps the guard would not interrogate her this time. "Your highness," A voice said, "Zant is no longer a threat."

Zelda knew that voice, the voice of the hero. She turned around in suspicion. Was Link really there? She knew the answer was yes when she saw that smile - it was one only the hero had. Link bowed on his knees, head down and smirked, "You'll be safe your highness."

"Please", Zelda started, "Call me by the name Zelda. You are worthy, Link."
A short story to go with the best piece of :iconleodiamond:'s.
