Beast Master Manga Review

Greetings loved ones,

There are not that many manga reviews out there, so I decided to take a step and review one of my favorites called, "Beast Master".

Plot:

This manga is about a young girl named Yuiko who comes across a mysterious boy who comes off as "creepy" to most people around him. Later when he transfers to her school, she comes to learn that the boy, Leo is anything but scary. In fact, he is almost like a loving small animal who adores both her and wild life (despite being almost 18). Yuiko and Leo stick together to find to find their way into society, all while protecting the strange boy from danger.

Thoughts and Review:

While Beast Master only has about 8 chapters, the read is totally worth it! I love how the mangaka stayed true to the characters' personalities and didn't choose the typical "love at first site" approach. In a way, the story really shows how "judging a book by it's cover" really is, since Leo is constantly neglected and thought of as a monster by society. Because of his lack of human interaction and having lived in the wilderness most of his life, his personality is that of a child. I really enjoyed seeing the little quirks Leo has and how attached his is to Yuiko. At first, he develops feelings for her that would be considered "puppy love" (probably literally in his case) until it turns into something more as he becomes accepted for who he is. The story is extremely different from others, and doesn't have that "reverse harem" undertone, as Yuiko is seen as rather odd for being with Leo. It truly is a heart warming story - short and sweet yet satisfying.

Five stars because it's THAT good. Man, I really hope this becomes an anime.
